Following hot on the heels of the release of rival Rock Band, the Guitar Hero franchise makes its second claim to Wii territory with this Aerosmith-focused standalone edition. The classic songlist of Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer takes center stage, as digital versions of each of the five rockers stand alongside such GH series staple mascots as Axel Steel and Casey Lynch. The title won’t be exclusively built on Aerosmith music, though – other classic bands like The Clash, Run DMC and Stone Temple Pilots will have entries included on this disc as well.
The game should help you make your summer music genre purchasing decision – should you migrate to Rock Band next week, or wait the extra seven days to stick with this next edition of Guitar Hero? Either way you’d be best served to pick a path and stay with it, as it doesn’t look like the two competing series’ instrument controllers will be cross-compatible with one another on Wii.
